Joy Terry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Elementary Education from the College of William and Mary in December 2000 and finished her Doctoral Degree in Professional Psychology at George Washington University in May 2010.
Dr. Terry works with clients ages two and a half and older. She has an interest in providing psychotherapy and psychological evaluations for diagnostic purposes. She understands that successfully treating an individual with mental health issues begins with an accurate assessment of their psychological functioning.
Dr. Terry considers herself a generalist and utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy. She pulls from her psychodynamically-oriented training and incorporates cognitive-behavioral strategies as well as mindfulness techniques into her work with clients.
